TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said that her ministry had prepared strategies to cut back on corporate tax as ordered by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi.
“We have prepared what the president asked,” said Sri Mulyani today, March 22, at Ayana Midplaza Hotel, Jakarta.
Jokowi expected tax reduction for corporates in a bid to improve the competitive edge of their products, both domestic and abroad.
During a support declaration of 10,000 businesspersons for the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin ticket at Istora GBK Senayan, Jakarta, Jokowi said he had canvassed strategies to trim the corporate tax. However, the policy has yet to be issued.

According to Sri Mulyani, a reduction on institution’s income tax or PPh Badan requires an amendment, and the draft bill has been prepared.
“The preparations and the process must be supported because we are currently striving to push several reforms of the general taxation system (UU KUP) Law, income tax law (UU PPh), and value-added law (UU PPn). The UU KUP is already in the House,” said the minister.
